Nepal Engineering Council was formed under the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 2055 promulgated by His Majesty the King on B.S. 2055/11/27 (11th March 1999 A.D.) with the authority to plan, coordinate development, and monitor the engineering profession in the country.

It is necessary that the Engineering work is valid if and only if the Registered Engineer in Nepal Engineers Council has given the guarantee of the work. So, NEC has defined registrations of engineers into three categories.

1. General Registered Engineer
2. Professional Engineer
3. non – Nepali Registered Engineer

Only those who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering from the universities recognized by the Nepal Engineering Council are eligible for the application for registration. Visit here to see whether you have your university listed in NEC. If not do visit NEC Office for further information.
